Solar Control Film — Commercial & Residential
Solar Control Film — Commercial & Residential
In any glazed building, windows are the primary pathway for solar heat to enter the interior. On sun-facing elevations, unprotected glass can account for the majority of cooling load — driving up energy costs, creating uncomfortable hot spots, and fading interior finishes over time.
Solar control film for flat glass applies directly to existing windows and significantly reduces the amount of solar energy passing through. It rejects heat before it enters the building, blocks UV radiation at high levels, and reduces glare — all without changing the look of the glass from outside or meaningfully affecting natural light levels inside.
Because it works on existing glazing, solar control film delivers a significant improvement in building comfort and energy efficiency at a fraction of the cost of window replacement. It is one of the most cost-effective upgrades available for any commercial or residential property with glazed facades.
Heat reduction
Blocks solar heat gain through glazing, lowering interior temperatures and reducing the load on HVAC systems — cutting energy costs without replacing glass.
UV protection
Rejects high levels of UV radiation to prevent fading and discoloration of interior furnishings, flooring, merchandise, and finishes.
Glare control
Filters harsh visible light to reduce glare on screens, workspaces, and display areas while maintaining natural light transmission.
Retrofit solution
Applied directly to existing glass with no structural changes required. Upgrades performance across an entire building without costly glazing replacement.

Solar spectrum
Sunlight is composed of three distinct energy bands. Solar control film is engineered to address all three, reducing the cumulative thermal and biological impact on your building and its occupants.
Ultraviolet (UV)
280–380 nm
Blocked at high levels. Prevents fading of furnishings, flooring, merchandise, and interior finishes. Reduces photochemical damage to occupants.
Visible light
380–780 nm
Partially filtered to reduce glare while maintaining useful natural light levels. Film grade and tint level are selected to balance comfort and daylighting.
Infrared (IR)
780 nm–2,500 nm
Rejected at high levels. Infrared is the primary driver of heat felt through glass. Blocking it has the most direct impact on interior temperature and HVAC load.
Applications
Solar control film is effective on any glazed surface with meaningful solar exposure. It is particularly impactful on south- and west-facing elevations where heat and glare are most significant.
